Note: The Ford GT uses 2 FPDMs to control fuel for the dual-injection fuel delivery system. However, the REM communicates diagnostic information through the communication link instead of using a fuel pump monitor (FPM) circuit. The fuel pump operation is the same as for applications using the stand-alone FPDM. Note: For the LS, the FPDM functions are incorporated in the rear electronic module (REM). Refer to the Owner's Literature for the location of the IFS. Once the switch is open, it must be manually reset before restarting the vehicle. When a sharp impact occurs, the ball breaks loose from the magnet, rolls up a conical ramp and strikes a target plate which opens the electrical contacts of the switch and shuts off the electric fuel pump. It consists of a steel ball held in place by a magnet. The purpose of the IFS switch is to shutoff the fuel pump if a collision occurs. Did you test or just replace it ?
